Hello! I haven't updated in a supremely long time, but I'm still here! Just letting everyone know that I got a dreamwidth account if anyone wants to add me over there. I pretty much just got it, so it's still getting set up, but here it is: http://nekoni.dreamwidth.org/

I'll still be on here from time to time to check my f-list and see what all you lovely people are up to and to lurk on fandoms, but I'm probably not going to be posting a whole lot.

Anyway, I'm still extremely active on Tumblr, so if you want, feel free to add me: http://nekoni.tumblr.com/

Happy belated Halloween everyone! How did everyone spend their Halloween? I spent mine working most of the day (in costume!) and then lazing around at home and helping to hand out candy.

On Halloween weekend though I got dressed up and went out to a bar with my friends. It was really fun and I even met a guy dressed up as Doctor Who! I danced with him and he was really nice and didn't try to pull anything weird (like with my other experiences at clubs, ugh). I also met a guy dressed up as Scorpion from Mortal Combat, but we didn't talk as much because he had a mask on and I pretty much couldn't hear him at all. ): But he did do a few punches and jump kicks for me, which was funny and when I clapped he made a big show out of bowing, haha.

Anyway, I dressed up in two costumes this year! I re-used my Suika costume from Anime North at work and went out with my friends as Gumi from Matryoshka. :D

Picture spam under the cut! :DCollapse )
Anyway, I love Halloween! It means I can be as geeky as I want and no one cares~! ALSO CANDY *shot* Anyway I can't wait for next year!

Now I can drive ANYWHERE!!! But then again, when I say that I immediately think, "oh god why did they give me a driving licence I'm going to KILL MYSELF IN A HORRIBLE BALL OF METAL AND FIRE". Well I guess I'll just have to get used to driving by myself from now on!

It's weird that I got my G2 right after getting into a car crash too, hmmm. (although I wasn't driving, but still)

Also, I've contributed to the sales of the Sailor Moon manga by excitedly buying it and getting weird looks from people as I shouted "IT'S MY CHILDHOOD IN A BOOK, I NEED IT" at the cash. NOW IF ONLY THEY GOT MORE COPIES OF HARK! A VAGRANT IN, MY LIFE WOULD BE COMPLETE./sobs

So guess how I spent my last two days?

Or to be more specific I went camping and the bees (yellowjackets, whatever) decided gee, what a fine weekend, LET'S TAKE THE FUCK OVER.

And so my whole weekend was filled with running away from bees and hiding inside the trailer and going outside occasionally to socialize and then running back in. I brought a can of soda out with me to drink, put it down and then the next moment I went to pick it up, a bee flew out of the opening and I decided I really didn't need soda that badly after all. So uhhh, yeah, how was everyone else's weekend? (and for all my Canadian friends, how was Thanksgiving? :D)

Also I signed up for a Netflix trial a little while ago and have been marathoning anime like crazy. I finished Moribito: The Guardian of the Spirit and now I'm watching Blood+. I also caught up with Sherlock (I missed an episode) and I started watching The Walking Dead. Hopefully I can get in everything I want to before my trail is up!

I went to Blockbuster today since they're officially closing down and picked up a few things. I'm really sad it's closing down because I went there a lot to rent movies that I originally didn't see in theatres. Basically now since Jumbo Video closed down awhile ago too, I have no other place to rent movies anymore. Call me old fashion, but I kind of preferred it to things like Netflix. I liked going out and seeing familiar faces and browsing around to see what new movies were out. That and all through my childhood I'd go in with my dad to either Jumbo Video or Blockbuster, grab some free popcorn and pick something up. It was really nice and I got to hang out with my dad and make fun of the lame b-movies we came across. I'm going to miss it. ):

I bought a few videos games and a movie while I was there and found some things that I potentially might go back for. Today I picked up Nier, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, the Star Wars edition of Robot Chicken, and some cool retro 3-D glasses they had. I also happened to find the whole box set of Wolf's Rain and Left 4 Dead, but the Wolf's Rain box set was expeeensive even with the 25% off and I figured that I'd just pick up Left 4 Dead the next time I was in. (even if it's not there I can probably get it cheap at Walmart or EB Games)

I also beat Portal awhile ago (after playing non-stop, lol) and bought Portal 2 shortly after. Can I just say that Portal 2 has TAKEN OVER MY LIFE?! Almost every spare moment I have I'm playing it. Basically between work and some computer time it's all I've been doing. D: It's just. so. freaking. addictive. I went over to a friend's house today and we played co-op for a few hours and ADAGFHHGFJK IT'S SO FUN. I'm sure everyone else has said this, but I love Wheatley. He's so hilarious. Whoever wrote the script for this game deserves all the awards, ALL OF THEM. It's just so brilliant and even my friend, who doesn't really like 1st person games was right there laughing with me and having fun.

Oh yes, and I beat 999 a little while ago too! I saved the true ending for last and MAN, was I not disappointed! That ending just scattered my emotions EVERYWHERE and I found myself laughing and crying and just aaaaaahhhhh IT WAS TOO GOOD. I loved it and it also brought up some player speculation as well, which I like to try and sort out and create head canons for. Just WOW, that's really all I can say about it all. Everything came together so perfectly. I will be eagerly awaiting Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die. (because I guess it's the sequel to 999? IDK :/a)

After 7 days in a row of working, I'm so glad I've had all day today to just crash. By the last day I was pretty much dead on my feet, so sleeping in until noon today was nice. Should a part-timer even be working 7 days in a row to begin with? Idk, but I'm hoping my paycheck is going to be nice and big this week. PORTAL 2 YOU WILL BE MINE

Went shopping for a bit today and found out Chapters/Coles is having a buy 3 get 1 free sale again! And not only that but I got 20% off every Viz manga I bought! I LOVE DEALS. I immediately grabbed some manga I wanted and then came across this little piece of amazing:

What's that you say? They made an entire manga based on my favourite character from Tales of the Abyss? AWWW YEEEEAH. 8D The minute my eyes made contact with the cover I grabbed it  and didn't let it go. A WHOLE STORY ABOUT ASCH YES YES YES, SO NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. I also got Black Bird vol. 9 and 10 and a book called Covet by J.R Ward because I always need more smut in my life.

New Doctor Who episode was also amazing and wonderful and made me flail about incessantly. I have a thing for World War 2 era military uniforms so that was a big plus in my mind. AND RORY, OMG HOW MUCH CUTER CAN YOU GET ASADDGFHGHJ. He was just so adorable when he got all flustered and adssdfgfhjdhg, SO ADORABLE. I can't wait for the next episode! :D

Also, Livejournal stop being a dick and let me put things under a cut, jeez. D:< LJ has been screwing up AGAIN so much lately, agh. :I

And I hope everyone is alright after Hurricane Irene! From what I heard on the news, it sounded pretty bad.

So I'm currently having an ongoing battle with a spider in my room. The first time I saw it it was pretty much coming at me at a DEAD RUN. So I freaked out and tried to kill it, but it dropped somewhere and I couldn't find it. After that I quite literally stayed up all night to try and seek and destroy this stupid thing, but it had disappeared, so I finally went to bed. I didn't see it today either until I went on the computer AND IT ZOOMED OUT FROM UNDER IT. I flipped out and tried to smack it but it disappeared AGAIN. I swear to God the next time I see it it's dead. SOON SPIDER, SOON. D:<

I'm also currently taking driving prep to get my G2, so I have to do an online workbook thing to finish the course. One of the questions said: "What's the most important reason for wearing a seatbelt" and when I looked over the answers I found this line: "To make it easier for the rescuers to locate your body." Um...Okay. So I guess that's what a seatbelt is really needed for. Man, what would I do without this helpful online quiz? I feel more educated already.

But seriously, is it bad that I laughed really hard at that? My sense of humour is a bit odd at the best of times. Especially since I thought it would be really funny to get drunk while taking my online driving test. I didn't do it, but I still found the thought hilarious....I'll just hide forever now...

So has anyone else seen the new Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake? I know it's not supposed to come out until sometime in September, but I found the full episode and couldn't stop myself. That and I probably wouldn't be able to watch it on t.v either because I'm not even sure if Adventure Time is on any Canadian channels. But yes, NEIL PATRICK HARRIS ASADSFHGHSDSFHG. I was way too excited by the fact that he was voicing Prince Gumball, haha. Marshal Lee didn't have any lines, which made me sad, but I still liked the cameo and the interaction between Fionna and him. AND DAT ENDING OMG. Probably the best ending for anything I've seen ever. XD

I also downloaded a bunch of fanmade visual novels that I found a link for in deviantart. I've only played through one so far and I really liked it! It's called Painted Walls and it's about a mentally disturbed girl who loves the colour red and hears voices from the walls and her house. It had a really great, surreal type of art and the story from her perspective was amazing. It was pretty short and I've gotten two out of the three endings, but it really hit the mark and left me feeling quite disturbed by the end of it. The bonus material didn't help in that area either, haha. Here's a link to anyone interested in playing it: HERE. It's free and really well done.

There was also apparently a visual novel contest/festival going on that had a bunch of original visual novels avaliable for free download. They're all HERE. I'm probably going to be playing through either Reverie or That Cheap and Sacred Thing next. They both look quite good! I'm such a visual novel nerd, IGNORE ME XD

Also welcome to bog_initiate and corner_of_woes! I post about dumb things a lot, as well as memes and fandom related things. I'm on Tumblr a lot too, so if you have a Tumblr come add me at Nekoni! :D

Happy belated Canada Day for everyone living up here! I spent mine hanging out with some of my friends. We played a bunch of video games, including the old Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis console. I couldn't even believe they still owned a working Genesis console, but it worked fine and it was really fun!
After playing some more video games and watching Invader Zim for awhile, we made a last minute decision to go see the fire works. Unfortunately it was a bit too late and we ended up only seeing some of the fireworks display as we were walking towards where it was taking place. At least we got to see some of it though! My other friends were pretty bummed about it, but I had brought some sparklers with me, so we lit those as we were walking back instead. Then we got some icecream before going back too, which was really good. :D

We were also celebrating my friend's birthday on top of Canada Day, so we got him a really awesome cake!

He couldn't stop laughing once he saw it and he kept saying that it was probably one of the most epic cakes he's ever had. XD

I also heard that apparently Hakuouki for the PSP is getting an English release by Aksys? I saw it here after hearing about it and wanting to know more. If this is definitely happening then I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE RELEASE. I'll probably buy it as soon as it hits the shelves, lol. It's probably not going to be for awhile, but it's still exciting news! Otome games in English! WOO!
